This pandemic has been tough on all of us, including non-profits. Fundraisers have been cancelled, and our normal revenue streams are no longer available to us.
Thankfully, with the help of our online followers, the Red Deer Kinettes were still able to do some good deeds this year. Early on in the pandemic, we hosted our Quarantine Survivor challenge, with our main goals being to support local businesses and raise funds for local causes. We procured all our prizes from local businesses, namely Bo's Bar and Grill, Troubled Monk, and Red Hart Brewing. With the support of our media sponsors Big 105 and 106.7 The Drive (now Rewind Radio), this event sold out and became a great success. And we didn't stop there. In the fall, we hosted a Halloween Challenge. This time the businesses we purchased our prizes from were Super Liquor, Sweet Capone's, and Tacoloft. Because of your support during these fundraisers, we not only were able to support local businesses, but we also presented a cheque for $5,000 to the Make A Move with Jagger Foundation as direct proceeds of these fundraisers. This non-profit is committed to supporting individuals with special needs in our community and is close to our hearts. We are honoured to be able to help them in their mission.
